The pro wrestler and Madi Media CEO headlined UCW Locking Horns 2, turned a chaotic match into a win, and says her next stop is the top of the wrestling world.
Madisyn Maxxwell, pro wrestler and the head of Madi Media, had no trouble turning her UCW Locking Horns 2 into a headline of its own. After headlining the event, Maxxwell sat down with Pat Clines for a post-match interview and made one thing clear: she came in, she won, and she's only getting started.
A Clean Win, a Messy Road
Maxxwell said she felt "really freaking good" about the outcome, though not about the path that led to it. She was originally scheduled to face Jennacide, but "Dream Girl Ellie", a wrestler with AEW and NXT experience who has also squared off against Jennacide, came out instead.
"I was going to give the people what they wanted, which was just to see me win, which they did," Maxxwell said. "But to get there, she really, really freaking got in my way. And I had to sweat. You think I wanted to sweat tonight? No."
Maxxwell described her plan as a simple statement: come out, show everyone who she is and what she does, and leave. Instead, she said Ellie "ruins it", even going so far as to slap her in the face.
"I'm happy with the outcome, not happy with the sweat," Maxxwell said. "And she slapped me in the face."
Signature Move Draws Comparisons
The conversation also turned to Maxxwell's signature move, a backfist knockout she calls "This Just In." Clines said the move reminded him of Lola Vice, "just minus the spin", Madisyn disagreed and countered "I am more glamour." True.
Title Defense on the Horizon
Maxxwell recently captured the title and has a defense coming up what was planned to be September, however, it was recently scheduled to November. Asked how she'll approach the upcoming defense, she kept it simple:
"I walk in champion. I walk out champion. I don't know how much simpler it can be."
Asked where she's headed, Maxxwell's answer was blunt: "The top."
"Front page news every time," she added. "Madisyn Maxxwell, the champion. Absolutely. At the beginning and the end of the show. And probably forever."
